"This is a hike to a natural arch in the Red Rock–Secret Mountain Wilderness. The Fay Canyon Trail starts out as an easy walk through pinyon-juniper forest. The only difficulty is a few false trails near the beginning. About 0.6 mile from the trailhead, watch for an unmarked trail going right (northeast) toward the canyon wall. This trail climbs steeply about 0.2 mile to Fay Canyon Arch, which is difficult to see until you are very close. The arch was formed from a massive fin in the Schnebly Hill formation and stands close to the cliff behind it, so there is little skylight shining through. It is also worthwhile to continue on the main trail up Fay Canyon. It fades out at a fork in the canyon about 1.0 mile from the trailhead; this side trip would add 0.8 mile to the hike." Read more
