Trail 4 at Seven Springs

Trail 4 at Seven Springs Professional Review and Guide

"The Seven Springs Campground is about a half-hour north of the artsy little town of Cave Creek. As the dirt road winds its way up the canyons feeding into the Humboldt and Cramm Mountains, cactus and yucca gives way to sycamore groves. Travelers may wonder if they’re still in the middle of the desert. The road winds up into the mountains, passes over running water—an exotic treat for Arizonans—and eventually tops out at the tree-covered Seven Springs Campground.

The climb up and out of the creek bed will take a couple hours all by itself. But, oh, the views! Looking west, the ominous dark ridge is Black Mesa. Due south, stands Skull Mesa; behind, to the north, is Cramm Mountain; and the big mountain, toward which the trail leads, Quien Sabe Peak. Trail Surface: Singletrack and doubletrack (old mining roads and cow paths)."
