Log Corral to Bartlett Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Incredible fun if you like challenge, variety and surprises. The sandy wash that climbs the east side is an absolute blast. If F.S. 393 is not repaired, there may be sections of the road that completely wash out. Great scenery on the west side of Log Corral as you descend toward the lake and traverse along its southern edge.
The trail starts by winding back and forth across a rocky creek, then turns northwest up a lesser side canyon. After a half mile of slow-going obstacles, you begin a 3-mile section of easy, fun, twisting wash. You cross a high ridge at Log Corral and begin a steep descent to the lake. If you go straight at Waypoint 04, it ends at the lake. You can end your trip here, or check out conditions of F.S. 393 across the south end of lake. If you are lucky, you might make it all the way to the Verde River, as we did. During an extreme dry spell, you might even be able to cross the river to a Forest Service campground on other side."
