Within five minutes of downtown Payson, the Houston Mesa Horse Camp Trails comprise a network of bermed, smooth singletrack, ultra-rocky jeep roads, and walking paths. The network is fairly new, having been developed since new homes were built south of Tyler and north of Houston Mesa. In fact, the trail is a narrow wedge of national forest squeezed between housing developments. Trail Surface: Bermed, fast singletrack, and rocky and difficult doubletrack.
