Nellie Mine Road Professional Review and Guide
"This short county road gives access to additional, more difficult 4WD trails as well as to the Cienega Mining District. But the major attraction of this trail could be the unmarked, unadvertised Desert Bar, situated at the very end of the trail. It only operates on weekends and is closed in summer, but it is a popular watering hole for locals and travelers alike. During the week, there is no access to the property. In addition to the bar, the owner has built a “church” (which is nothing more than a board front) on his property. It is hard to miss as you come down the wash. Special Attractions: Rockhounding sites; Cienega Mining District; The Desert Bar. This trail is graded dirt but suitable for a normal passenger vehicle. It usually has gentle grades, is fairly wide, and has very shallow water crossings (if any)."
