This loop around the upper elevations of the Sierra Ancha Wilderness starts lly climbing Aztec Peak to the Forest Service lookout tower via Abbry's Way. From the peak, it follows the service road down to Moocly Point Trail and takes that path down the slope to its junction with Rim Trail. Going clockwise on Rim Trail reveals several biomes and takes you to overlooks of several deep gorges. The hike returns to high elevation via Parker Creek Trail, which terminates at the Carr trailhead. A brief stroll down the road takes you back to Abbry's Way trailhead. Many parts of this hike, particularly Rim Trail, have had substantial fire damage, which may make it unsuitable for those with smaller legs.
