Lake Havasu (AZ / CA Border) Professional Review and Guide
"Short Take: 25,000 acres with 50 additional miles of river; clear and dingy water, rocky points, shoreline vegetation, weeds, current, one tributary. Visitors come to this scenic Colorado River impoundment for many reasons: to see the original London Bridge, reconstructed here as the centerpiece of the city; to fish for striped bass that may weigh as much as 50 pounds; or simply to enjoy the dry, high desert sunshine.
More and more, however, they’re coming to fish for largemouth bass. That’s because the bass fishing at Lake Havasu is slowly but steadily improving, due in no small part to an ongoing fish habitat improvement project in which artificial cover is being placed throughout the lake. Natural vegetation continues to spread as well, and while a 5-pound largemouth is still a very nice fish here, more and more of them are being caught. Primary Species: Largemouth and striped bass."
