The surface of the trail is pretty rough, my 12 year old walked a bunch of it. BUT, the springs that are mentioned in the guide that house the endangered crawfish are unbelievable. We spend a hour watching them battle each other for food, it was spectacular. Please be respectful of the place and the fact that these creatures are endangered, but its well worth the side-trip.
