A small warm spring in an extremely dry desert setting, diverted into several cattle watering troughs. Although a desert oasis at one time, Caliche Warm Spring has been diverted into a holding tank which feeds a cattle watering trough. The spring is located in an extremely arid environment in northwest Arizona. The location is also far from any towns and requires a long drive on a difficult road. If the preceding doesn’t dampen your spirits, then you will enjoy a trip to Caliche Warm Spring. The view from the top of the road is spectacular, and wildlife abounds near the spring. Caliche is one of the few sources of water in the area and animals are obviously drawn to it. There is also evidence of human occupation here in the past. Prehistoric artifacts can be found if you know where to look. The spring is in a primitive setting, although the flow has been totally harnessed and diverted to a cattle trough.
