An overnight backpack trip into the Kanab Creek Wilderness. The Ranger Trail is only one of a number of routes into the magnificent Kanab Creek Wilderness. The trail begins at an old cabin and quickly drops into Jumpup Canyon. This is a lovely spot with large box elders and fragrant big sage. Scan the cliff faces, especially under overhangs, and you might discover some intriguing prehistoric rock art. There are pictographs (paintings) dating as far back as several thousand years, as well as historic Southern Paiute drawings. Please do not touch them. Oils from your fingers can degrade the image.
