I give this hike 5 stars because of the petroglyphs. They're in great condition and all over the place. If you're looking for a challenge this isn't the trip. It's crowded as well

Trail is CLOSED until *at least* January 2008. We were very disappointed to discover this only when we pulled up at the ranger booth. They are "improving" the trail which I assume means making it more accessible and easier, so in the future it will probably be more crowded. The improvement project was originally slated to last through October 07, but as of December the trail was still closed, so who knows when it will actually re-open. The rest of the park was very beautiful, except for the suburban sprawl marring the views of the valley floor below. If you're going for the petroglyphs, wait until the Waterfall Trail re-opens - they say you can see some on the other trails, but we only noticed one or two underwhelming ones.
