The Weatherford Trail 102 takes you to within barking distance of the roof of Arizona and lies almost entirely within the highly scenic Kachina Peaks Wilderness Area. The path is open to hiking and horseback riding only—and no horses are allowed beyond Doyle Saddle—so this remains a remote trail, in spite of convenient access from Flagstaff. Since some of this San Francisco Peaks trail is above tree line, watch summer temperatures carefully when planning your trip and pack in extra water.
