Tramway Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This short trail in the West Clear Creek Wilderness is an enjoyable hike, and it provides access to spectacular West Clear Creek. The short but spectacular trail descends into the gorge of West Clear Creek, affording fine views both up and down the canyon. It follows the route of an old aerial tramway. Kaibab limestone, a fossil-rich layer that was deposited in a shallow ocean, forms the edge of the Mogollon Rim in this area. Below the Kaibab limestone, the cross-bedded Coconino sandstone appears, with its layers of overlapping petrified sand dunes."

i have been here many times and it is one of my favorite hikes. the scenery is amazing, the hike is challenging and the creek is a cool reward at the bottom. you can hike down the creek all the way to camp verde if you want to float thru the narrows. i love this spot
