Starting from the Dogie Trailhead, this loop through the central portion of Sycamore Canyon uses the Dogie, Taylor Cabin, and Casner Mountain Trails to take you through the red rock country of Sycamore Canyon, past a historic rancher’s line cabin, and over the top of Casner Mountain, where you’ll find views of much of the western Mogollon Rim and the Verde Valley. You’ll definitely want to do this loop clockwise to avoid the steep climb up the south slopes of Casner Mountain. A Red Rock Pass, obtainable at the Red Rock Ranger Station in Sedona, is required for parking at the trailhead.
