This pleasant, 11.4-mile loop is a terrific way for you and your dog to enjoy the shady forests, rugged canyons, and natural, ephemeral pools tucked just above the lip of the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Area. Your route on Sycamore Rim Loop 45 is a clockwise tour starting from the Pomeroy trailhead. You begin on a comfortable, compacted forest floor, shaded by towering ponderosa pines, Gambel oaks, and alligator junipers— autumn is cool and lovely here.
