This is a very easy hike to a vantage point near Mormon Lake. Although the Mormon Lake Road is just a short distance away, the pavement is nicely hidden in the trees, and the view of the lake from this vantage point is nearly unspoiled. This is a great place to watch wildlife, as the ledge is about 100 feet above the lake. Bring binoculars, and plan to arrive around sunrise or before sunset for the best viewing.
