Really liked the scenery and the route was easy enough to enjoy it. The cinder cone hills with craters at the top made the scene unique. One note: The directions to the trail include a comment to go past end of pavement before turning left on 107. The road is now paved beyond the intersection with 107.

I'm new at mountain biking, so I don't really know. But I like this whole area since there are very few cars or trucks (like 0) and I rarely run into anyone at all. The terrain is mostly flat. You'll be riding in open grazing land or through forests. It's all unmaintained double track and some of it is very littered with those nasty volcanic rocks that have a special name. They range from size of marbles to softballs. There are plenty of side trips in this area. So, bring a map and a GPS. There are some great views including views of the San Francisco Peaks.
