This is a hike on the north side of San Francisco Mountain in the Kachina Peaks Wilderness. It’s a cool hike on a hot summer day and is a great display of fall aspen color.

This was a nice summer hike to get out of the Phoenix heat. There's not too much in the way of views until you reach the top of the Abineau trail, when Humphreys comes into view and you're high enough to see the terrain to the north. The top of the Abineau trail is steep and has loose footing, which makes the descent a bit tricky especially if you've got a heavy pack and are being dragged by two dogs!
