Rainbow Valley Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"Estrella Mountain Regional Park sits at the northern tip of the Sierra Estrella range. Many trails crisscross foothills and plains in the park, and Rainbow Valley Trail and Butterfield Trail touch nearly all of them, forming countless loops. You can customize the hike distance by choosing different return routes.
Rainbow Valley Trail, named for a huge plain west of the Sierra Estrellas, leads you on an enjoyable loop that touches several other trails. Rainbow Valley Trail, along with a combination of Toothaker, Pedersen, Gadsden, and Butterfield Trails, creates an excellent route through the park. The western half of the loop is hilly, whereas the eastern portion runs through an expansive desert valley."
