As one of Arizona’s lesser-known wilderness areas, the Pine Mountain Wilderness offers fine hiking without the crowds. A nice loop hike through the heart of this parcel takes in a section of the Verde Rim as well as Pine Mountain itself. As one might expect, the views are superb along many sections of this hike. And nice stands of the mountain’s namesake, the ponderosa pine, are featured all along the way.
