Perched high at the rim of Cooper Forks Canyon, a rugged gorge in the Sierra Ancha Mountains, this cliff dwelling is one of the more intimidating archaeological sites described in this book. You can actually see it from the dirt road leading to the ruin, but when you spot the tiny brown buildings far up near the canyon’s rim, you’ll gasp at the prospect of climbing up to reach them. However, on a cool day the hike is actually rather nice, albeit steep.
