This hike follows the rough remains afForest Road 602 to the start of Trail 8, one of the most isolated and least documented trails on the Tonto map. The hike then follows that trail to the first saddle, bryond which recent fires have made travel more trouble than it's worth. OUTSTANDING FEATURES: Scenic vistas of the New River Mountains, transition eeo-zone, quartz and mica, isolation.
