This hike climbs across the mountains, through the ghost manzanitas, and along the old cattle route up to Skunk Tank. It then switchbacks steeply down to the perennial Cave Creek, which it follows back uphill to form a loop. The route offers great views of the surrounding mountains and canyons and a perspective on the history of the area and what has been lost. OUTSTANDING FEATURES: Riparian area, desert vistas, historic route.
