A fun trail to ride with a variety of terrain. On a hot day, cool off in clear-water pools along the creeks. As you ride north, you’ll pass through historic Bumble Bee (if new freeway doesn’t wipe out the town). Before you head south on F.S. 9223C, consider going another mile on Crown King Road to Cleator, where you’ll find local color and a popular weekend bar. Dead Cow Gulch is remote and lightly traveled; don’t count on help if you have a breakdown.
