A short, fun ride with moderate challenges through historic mining country. According to our local guide, some mine adits can be hiked up to a mile into the mountain; however, javelina (wild pigs) sometimes inhabit the mines. Normally fearful of humans, javelina have been known to attack when their escape route is blocked. Other dangers include poison gas and cave-ins—these are three great reasons not to enter a mine that may look safe.
