Kartchner Caverns State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Kartchner Caverns State Park is the newest state park to open in Arizona and has one of the finest examples of caves found anywhere in the world. This is definitely worth a special day trip, as there is much to see and do here. However, you must make a reservation to see the cave.
Don’t expect to show up on a whim and be able to get inside. What makes this day trip so special is that Kartchner Caverns is a wet, alive cave that is continuing to form. It is extremely unusual for non-spelunkers to have the opportunity to visit such a vast, living underground formation. This chapter from the DayTrips series describes many fascinating, exciting, (and many free of charge) things to do, most within a two-hour drive of Tucson. Each Day Trip includes destination highlights, places to visit along the way, choice restaurants and lodging, and shopping."
