This hike follows the old railroad grade from the ruins of Welch Station, up Johnson Canyon, and through an abandoned railroad tunnel to the site of an occasional waterfall. The grade continues another couple miles up the canyon, passing the ruins of bridges and other railroad infrastructure. The easy version of this hike turns around at the waterfall.
