An easily-accessible hike in the western Superstition foothills to rugged lower Boulder Canyon.Take the Second Water Trail east toward Black Mesa, the low volcanic mesa east of the trailhead area. The trail climbs onto the mesa following a former jeep road, then passes a low hill on the right and enters the broad expanse of Garden Valley. This rugged canyon is dry most of the year, but it drains much of the western portion of the Superstition Mountains, and after heavy rains it can be an uncrossable torrent.

excellent trail, it was easy to follow and seen a few deer down at the spring. 3.1 mile one way hike then went on to canyon lake, very nice day.
