Reavis Ranch Hike

Reavis Ranch Hike Professional Review and Guide

"This popular hike follows the north end of the Reavis Ranch Trail to the historic Reavis Ranch, a former working cattle ranch in the heart of the Superstition Mountains. The old ranch headquarters area includes an apple orchard, which still produces fine fruit—a real treat after the long hike to the ranch site.

The Reavis Ranch was the only ranch within the Superstition Wilderness when the wilderness area was established, and vehicle access to the ranch was via a long and winding road from Highway 88. After the USDA Forest Service bought the ranch, the ranch site and road corridor were added to the wilderness. Today the old road is maintained as a foot and horse trail, and the route makes a fine hike though the east-central portion of the Superstition Mountains."
