This hike goes up along Pinto Creek and into a convergence of canyons and trails called Oak Flat (not to be confused with the campground near Superior). As one of the few hikes in this area that does not require expeditionary resources, it is perfect for a day hike or a super-easy overnight. So, feel free to bring the kids and dogs. Both the trailhead and Oak Flats have cowboy ruins to explore; there is also access to a multitude of side trails. Outstanding features: Riparian glades, isolated meadow, wildlife, a confluence of canyons and trails, cowboy ruins.
