An enjoyable hike through two rugged canyons in the northwestern Superstition Mountains with options to extend the trip and plenty of opportunities for side hikes and exploration. Cross the highway and follow the Boulder Canyon Trail over the ridge into La Barge Creek. The trail crosses the creek and follows it 0.5 mile upstream before veering west and climbing over a low pass into Boulder Creek. There is sometimes seasonal water in both creeks.
