Butcher Jones Trails Saguaro Lake

Butcher Jones Trails: Saguaro Lake Professional Review and Guide

"This easy hike starts at the Saguaro nature trail and then follows the shore of Saguaro Reservoir around Peregrine Point to Camper's Cove. From there it cuts across a peninsula through some pristine desert to terminate at Burro Cove.

A great hike for dogs and kids and other limited hikers. Also provides shoreline access for fishing, or just skipping rocks. OUTSTANDING FEATURES: Views of lake and surrounding basin, cacti, fishing access."

This is an easy hike with lots of great typical Arizona scenery. You may see some wild horses which hang out in the area and aren’t scared off by people. It was a bit noisy and crowded though (we went on the weekend). Make sure you bring a lot of water, even though it’s an easy hike it’s easy to get overheated in the dry heat before you realize it.
