KP - Grants Creek Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This loop trip features a wide variety of seldom-visited trails in the western section of the Blue Range Primitive Area. The hike starts from the dense fir-aspen forest along the KP Rim, and loops down to the Blue River in semi-desert juniper forest, before climbing back to the KP Rim via a scenic canyon.
The rim along the northwest boundary of the Blue Range is covered with a delightful mix of Douglas-fir, white fir, blue spruce, and quaking aspen. Because of the abundant moisture from deep winter snow and heavy summer rains, this mountain forest is one of the most diverse in the state–and certainly one of the prettiest. The forest is home to black bear, mule deer, wild turkey, and elk."
