The 208-site Twin Peaks Campground near the visitor center offers water and flush toilets and is hosted in the winter. At the far end, two rows are designated exclusively for tent campers, with the desert as their backyard, and generators are prohibited in the two rows that separate the larger RVs from the tents.
When you first arrive, check in at the visitor center. Your entrance permit is valid for seven consecutive days, and if you have an inter-agency pass, the fee is waived. Chat with the rangers, pick up information about park activities, browse the books in the gift shop, and check the calendar of ranger patio talks, guided hikes, and van tours.
