Brushy Creek: CR 30 - to AR 246 Professional Review and Guide
"Brushy Creek’s headwaters are near Smoke Rock Mountain south of AR 375 and just east of the Cossatot River watershed. Brushy Creek is a major tributary of the Cossatot and flows into that river just above the Brushy Creek Access in the Cossatot River State Park Natural Area. In many ways, Brushy is a miniature version of the Cossatot, with the same characteristics but a smaller watershed. Paddlers will find the creek resembles the upper stretches of the Cossatot, with class II–II+ rapids in a very pristine setting. The Ouachita National Forest protects the entire watershed and there are few signs of civilization. This is a hidden jewel that few have paddled. This is also a great run when the main Cossatot route is too high to paddle."
