Just east of Pearson, between AR 25 and AR 5, Cadron Creek begins, flowing southwest to its confluence with the Arkansas River near Conway. Many enjoyable miles of water await paddlers on Cadron, but the best runs are from Pinnacle Springs to AR 285. Cadron Creek is very exciting, with many shoals, willow jungles, and spectacular bluffs. Expect an intermediate run that will keep novice paddlers on their toes at every turn. Hardwood forests enclose Cadron Creek in the upper section, and bluffs become more numerous below AR 65. This is an excellent winter run, with many large ice formations on the bluffs on the colder days of the year.
