Shores Lake Recreation Area Professional Review and Guide
"Shores Lake is 82 acres of sky-blue beauty deep in the Boston Mountains of northwest Arkansas. The dam was begun by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, but left unfinished until 1958, when the U.S. Forest Service and Arkansas Fish and Game Commission completed the project. Now Shores Lake is a popular camping, fishing, and swimming destination at the end of the pavement in the Ozark National Forest. You might not want to camp here if you’re superstitious—an old cemetery lies near the campground entrance—but less timid campers will love spending a few nights in this wooded lakeside retreat."
