The Big Brushy Trail is a 12-mile network, with an 8-mile main loop using the Brushy Creek Trail, part of the Ouachita Trail, and Forest Service Road 813A. This challenging trail system is not recommended for beginners. Most of the trail is challenging single-track with many technical sections, a few short stretches of abandoned logging road, and a mile on FS 813A. Quite a few rocky stretches will challenge you, especially on Mountain Top and Rockhouse Trails, and climbs will test your legs and lungs. This trail is located 15 miles northwest of Mt. Ida.
