Because Little Rock is the state capital, there are plenty of touristy things to do, including several attractions for children like the Little Rock Zoo, the Children’s Museum of Art, and the Museum of Discovery. Adults might find some of the shopping areas, especially the Heights and River Market, and art museums more interesting. Most mid-southerners know that Little Rock is also the former home and stomping ground of Bill and Hillary Clinton, and their names and reputations remain prominent fixtures in all parts of the city.
You’ll see Clinton Avenue stretching through the downtown area just a block from the Clinton-made-famous-by-way-of-Paula-Jones Excelsior Hotel. If you’re lucky, you may even overhear some “established” Little Rock ladies whispering Clinton-era political secrets over tea in the lobby. This eTrail from the DayTrips series describes many fascinating, exciting, (and many free of charge) things to do, most within a two-hour drive of Memphis. Each Day Trip includes, destination highlights, places to visit along the way, choice restaurants and lodging, and shopping.
