The Grand Promenade and Side Trails

The Grand Promenade and Side Trails Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Grand Promenade is a brick walkway that runs parallel to Central Avenue’s historic Bathhouse Row and connects to other trails traversing Hot Springs Mountain. A sign at the trailhead provides background information about the Grand Promenade, which was an open-air extension of the bathhouse experience.

To fill the idle hours between soaks, patrons were encouraged to exercise outdoors and commune with nature. The refreshing shade of the Grand Promenade was a perfect venue. Today the walkway, with its plazas and benches, still invites a leisurely walk apart from the urban rush. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon watching the squirrels and pigeons or reading the morning newspaper by one of the springs."
