Steel Creek Professional Review and Guide
"Steel Creek Campground is in a grassy bottomland tucked into a wide bend of the Buffalo River. You’ll often spot elk in the open grasslands between the river access and the campground. Though its openness limits privacy, the place pays you back with wonderful views of the mile-long valley. Roark Bluff dominates the skyline to the north, overlooking the valley for most of its length. Heavy downpours in Steel Creek awaken the splendid waterfalls that cascade off Roark Bluff. One of the falls forms a curtain of whitewater rolling over the bluff edge. My favorite waterfall jets off the bluff across from camp and arches almost all the way across the river."
