Archey Creek: Castleberrry Creek to the US 65 Bridge Professional Review and Guide
"Archey Creek rises on the east side of AR 16 north of Nogo in Pope County and flows to the southeast through some of the more rugged country in Arkansas, similar to the terrain found on the Middle Fork of the Little Red River.
Access is very limited, even on county roads, and an extremely long paddle is required. Plan on putting-in very early, or you will end up on the river after dark. Water quality is very good along Archey Creek, its tree-lined banks thick with oak, pecan, and elm. The terrain is rugged. A paddler has the feeling of being in a virgin forest, as there are no signs of civilization. The gradient of the stream ensures a good current at optimum levels and an abundance of sporty rapids."
