Shady Lake Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This 3.2-mile trail loops around the lake and was originally built in the 1970s. It was relocated by the Student Conservation Association in 195. A great ride for cyclists of all skill levels, it has only one tough hill, a quarter-mile climb and descent on the west side of the lake, and one short technical section near the dam. It is high-quality single-track for most of its length, with one quarter-mile section on an old road. The trail surface is a potpourri of gravel, dirt, and packed forest duff, with occasional waterbars. It is marked with Carsonite posts with directional arrows and the words "Shady Lake Trail" and occasional white blazes. This trail is located 60 miles west of Hot Springs or 30 miles southeast of Mena."
