Muddy Creek Interpretive Trail

Muddy Creek Interpretive Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Muddy Creek Interpretive Trail is a perfect example of how a major industry can take the lead and preserve the environment while providing recreational opportunity for the public. This beautiful family-friendly hike features many boardwalks that lead you through and educate you about the amazing wetlands and longleaf pine ecosystems found on Alabama’s Gulf Coast.

I have hiked all of the trails you can hike on the Alabama Gulf Coast, which only makes sense since I live there. Yes, I have hiked all of the trails in L.A. (Lower Alabama), or so I thought. One day an e-mail pops up on my computer. It was an invitation to hike the Muddy Creek Interpretive Trail in the town of Theodore. Curious, I shot the author an e-mail and asked where Muddy Creek was and what it was like."

For a while the parking area was locked until about 7-8 am. However it is now being opened earlier so you can begin your walk at daybreak. It's a nice well maintained trail however the parking area is a bit lonely and remote. We did not see much in the way of wildlife but it is a nice walk in the woods.
