Walking through downtown Mobile, Alabama isn’t a traditional hike, as you’ll be strolling through a busy downtown area on a cement sidewalk. Walking the route published in the guide on Trails will provide you with a great overview of what the city has to offer, from historical structures to great hotels, museums, dining, entertainment venues, office buildings, condominiums, and more. You’ll also get to see the true working waterfront of the Mobile River. Depending on timing, you may see a Carnival cruise ship in port or one or more Littoral Combat ships under construction for the United States Navy. It’s an easy walk over flat land though, of course, as with any urban setting you’ll need to be mindful of traffic.
