Red Mountain Park: Birmingham Mineral Railroad Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This is an ambitious hike when it comes to length, but it shows off many of the highlights of the park. It’s a great route for runners, as it follows the BMRR on the south and north sides of the mountain, on wide old rail beds that are straight and mostly fl at. These railroad stretches are connected by the mildly challenging uphill of the Redding–Ishkooda Trail, which takes you up and over Red Mountain.
After linking with the BMRR on the north fl ank of the mountain, the TCI Connector Trail leads you back over the ridge and down to the kiosk again. This is also a good workout on a mountain bike, with some physical demands on the uphills but not a lot in the way of daunting technical challenge."
