Almost as if by accident, the Chattahoochee State Park claims a square mile along the western banks of the great Chattahoochee River. Its small size has not kept this former Civilian Conservation Camp from providing a little something for everyone- mountain biker included. A trail system containing six miles of looping jeep track with a grass or pine needle surface connects to the four miles of fire lane on the outer perimeter of the park. Be warned that a great many diamondback rattlesnakes (a species in decline) inhabit the area; in addition to gopher tortoise burrows.
