Kesugi Ridge Professional Review and Guide
"A trail with a wide variety of choices for overnight treks traveling along a ridge, with some of the best views of Denali and the Alaska Range in the state. Kesugi Ridge, a long alpine ridge across the Chulitna River basin from the Alaska Range and Denali, is a fine 2-to-4-day backpack. It can be done in two days, but plan on three or four or even more to make the most of the trip. It’s a glorious 20-plus miles of alpine hiking in “real Sound of Music country,” as one of the park bulletin boards used to say."

I did this trail with a group and it was specctacular! We did it over 5 days which was perfect. It is possible to do it in less time, but i think 5 days is perfect. The trail was steep and strenuous at times, The scenery was unbelievable, and the weather was great, I highly recommend it!
it was a great hike, can be strenuous though. the trail gets rather steep in areas, at one point it was around a 60 degree incline up a hill. i was climbing and scrambling up, holding onto whatever i could grab! there's fantastic views and getting about treeline is very rewarding. rain is common.
Great trail!!! I loved it . . . rained solid 3 of the four days we were there, but thats just alaska . . . Alpine meadows were amazing! didn't know anything like that existed on earth. on day 4, high up on the ridge, the clouds parted and Denali apeared like a giant cloud... sat for hours watching the sun set (dip rather its the summer in alaska) behind denali while lounging an a verdant alpine meadow... like a dream...
