The islands north of Sitka Harbor offer fascinating opportunities for day trips and overnight camping. They can be easily reached from the harbor in Sitka or from the campground at Starrigavan Bay. A few of the islands have homes on them, but the local beauty is still intact. Views west toward Mt. Edgecumbe on Kruzof Island lend a spectacular backdrop on clear days. Waterfowl are abundantly present.
