The Visitor’s Center at Mendenhall Glacier is a must-see for visitors to Juneau. You can see the glacier in its incredible beauty from here from a variety of distances. View it from the observation area or hike the easy-to-moderate trails (much easier than the West Glacier trail) to get a more close-up perspective. The Visitor’s Center itself has clean restrooms, as well as interesting exhibits about the history and geology of the area. Plan to spend a couple of hours here when working out your itinerary.

Alaska is now on top of my list for hiking when it comes to scenery! The hike was a casual/moderate uphill for beginners which rewards you of the spectacular view of the Mendenhall glacier. Many waterfalls are on this trail. This trail is a total photo op!

We only did the East Glacier Loop trail which will take you two hours (with a lot of picture taking breaks). I will definitely come back and do the other trails!
